it's been a while

hello friend,

i haven't written in a while. not out of a lack of desire or motivation to do so, but more out of a lack of mental space for creativity.

a few things have happened these past few weeks that have pushed me out of this ugly spiral of self-distraction and brought me back to writing.

ive moved from dublin to falmouth, a small beach town in cornwall. a few days after accidently arriving here ive been given a caravan for free, which i had to demould, declutter and rebuild from scratch. i now have a home of my own. im keeping it on a community farm/ circus centre, using their facilities in exchange for a few hours of work each week helping on their land. im using my hands again.

i got a job in a coffeeshop, organising events in the evenings. open mics, board game nights, a monthly book club.

im playing music again after having stopped more or less completely for a year. im eager to put together a band to try get a very specific type of sound out of my head and into the world.

ive started writing my first novel. it's terribly exciting.

i love it here.

my notebook is filled with ideas for letters and essays, ill be rolling them out over the next couple of weeks. i thought id ease you back into it with a little update of whats going on in my life.
